How To Hide Your Application, Files And Photos on Android

These days Smartphone privacy is an important topic. From keeping our phones safe to hiding things we don’t want out in the open. Everything from lock-screen security to hide sensitive files and documents especially photos and video. With that in mind, here we’ll be showing users how to hide photos, files and apps on Android.

Everyone has their own reasons, which we won’t get into. That said if you want to hide photos and apps or keep files private we’ll show you how. Read on for some quick tips, app suggestions and more.

How to Hide File in Android

Most Android handsets lack a stock capacity to hide files and stuff. To do this, you’re going to have to settle on third-party tools.

One excellent app to do this is File Hide Expert, which makes it super easy for you to hide or unhide any file on your Android handset. The app is free and you can download it from the Play Store.

Once you launch File Hide Expert, you’ll get a notification that your hidden file list is currently empty. You should tap the folder icon located on the top-right side of your screen to get the action started. The app is pretty basic and works like an ordinary file management application. Just provided you know where a particular file is, you can hide it. Doesn’t’ matter what type it is. You can also restore your hidden files with a simple tap using File Hide Expert.

Step 3: Type in a third-party launcher name. Some common choices that allow app-hiding include “File Hide Expert”

Step 4: Review your search results. You’ll want to choose a highly-rated app with lots of reviews.

Step 6: Tap Install or Buy. This will be in the top right section of your screen. You may have to verify this step if your app isn’t free.

Step 7: Tap Accept if prompted. Once you do so, your app download will commence. Follow your apps on-screen instructions. Since launcher apps differ from one another, your process here will vary.

Step 8: With File Hide Expert, for example, you’ll tap App & Widget Drawers, then Hide Apps, and then check the apps you wish to hide.

Step 9: File Hide Expert, on the other hand, requires you to tap File Hide Expert Settings, then Drawer Settings, then Hidden Apps before checking the pertinent apps.

Step 10: Close your launcher. Your selected apps should now be hidden.

How to hide photos on Android

File Hide Expert is a great app hider Android tool, but not necessarily the best fix solution for hiding photos. To keep prying eyes from those sensitive photos of yours, you’ll need another app called KeepSafe.

This basically creates some kind of digital vaults where you can hide anything you don’t want showing elsewhere. You’ll need to use a pin each time you access your private files. There’s also a backup option so you can recover your sensitive photos and other files in case you lose them KeepSafe is currently free, with premium features available for $5 monthly.

Step 1: Download and install KeepSafe on your Android Smartphone. The application is free to use and works on all the versions of Android.

Step 2: For the first time you run the application it will ask you to enter the pin you would like to use to lock your photos and videos. If you are connected to the internet, you can enter your default email address to restore your pin if you ever forget it.

Step 3: Once you are in, it’s time to add some photos and videos. There are two ways you can add photos to the vault. You can either select or add photos using the KeepSafe app by clicking on MenuAdd Pictures button or you could add pictures from your default photo gallery. Just open the picture and share it with KeepSafe to lock it.

Step 4: Once you are done all your locked photos will be hidden from the default gallery, and if you wish to have a look at them, you will have to do so via the pin you were provided by the app to unlock it. To unhide any picture, press the Unhide button at the bottom of the screen, and select and confirm the pictures you would like to unhide.

Note: The unhidden photos may not appear in the gallery at once. You may need to reboot your phone to let the media scanner index them again.

How to hide apps on Android

If your app drawer is getting crammed full with applications, it might be time to get rid of some.
